Dr. Ayelet Schafir-Hirshfeld is a clinical psychologist, traumatologist, and Lacanian psychoanalyst. She applies her expertise in clinical psychology, Lacanian psychoanalysis, and trauma, as well as her technological knowledge, to her work in the mental health field and in executive and organizational consulting and advising. As president of DiversItUS® Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis Inc., Dr. Ayelet Schafir-Hirshfeld's primary responsibility is to surpass patients' expectations. Along with assessment, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, consultations, and trauma-informed care for both individuals and families, the outpatient clinic specializes in consulting to organizations allowing much needed reflection on organizational unconscious processes with a strong focus on the health of the organization. Dr. Hirshfeld has developed her expertise through a variety of training paths, including a BA in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Tel-Aviv, a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University with a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University CAPS, an Executive MBA from the Global Business School for Health at University College London, and psychoanalytic training at the Lacan School of Psychoanalysis. This psychologist gained great demand as a consultant to organizations like the National Institute of Neuropsychological Rehabilitation in Israel and International SOS in the UK due to her expertise in vicarious traumatization, trauma, and secondary stress. She has established herself as a prominent figure and a domain expert in trauma care through her significant work with PTSD in both military and civilian populations.
Dr. Hirshfeld promotes the responsible use of AI in psychotherapy and works as a startup founder and advisor to a number of tech, digital healthcare, and digital mental health care enterprises in addition to her clinical work. Her ambitious project, YourAIPsychoanalyst Inc., aims to bridge the gap between AI and psychoanalysis by giving everyone access to mental health services and psychoanalysis, regardless of financial situation or insurance coverage. In her ideal future, Gen Z, who prefer digital and text-based communication, will receive individualized and efficient psychoanalysis and mental health treatment from an autonomous Agentic AI powered agent.
In addition to her work on social impact projects, Dr. Hirshfeld is a member of the advisory council for Kids & Art, which supports children with cancer and their families.
