Airing Nationwide Beginning February 2 in "Travels & Traditions with Burt & Jonathan Wolf"
At a time when Americans are seeking hope, connection, and common ground, PBS will premiere, Kindland, a national movement dedicated to rebuilding civility through simple, everyday acts of kindness. The two-part program will air nationwide beginning February 2 on PBS stations in episodes 12306 and 12307 of “Travels & Traditions with Burt Wolf & Jonathan Wolf" and will continue to run periodically throughout 2026. The episode can be viewed any time at pbs.org (click here). The episodes place the Kindland initiative at the same level as The Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, and the World Central Kitchen, which are also highlighted in the program.
Created by the nonprofit Values-in-Action Foundation, the Kindland initiative encourages individuals, schools, workplaces, and communities to participate in acts of kindness that strengthen social bonds and reduce violence and divisiveness which are rampant throughout America today. The PBS Kindland episodes highlight real stories of transformation, the science behind kindness, and the growing national momentum behind the initiative.
“Kindness is not just a virtue — it’s a practical tool for healing our country and bettering ourselves,” said Stuart Muszynski, CEO and Co-Founder of Kindland. “Both PBS episodes featuring Kindland show what’s possible when people choose connection over conflict and compassion over division. Essentially, they are a prelude to Kindland launching the United States of Kindness campaign later this year to honor America's 250th anniversary. The United States of Kindness — launching on April 24th with 250 days left in the calendar year — seeks to engage Americans in a commitment to do 250 acts of kindness in 2026.
The Kindland episodes feature inspiring stories from communities embracing kindness, insights from educators, elected officials, and civic leaders. It also provides a roadmap for how viewers can join the Kindland movement and makes a national call to action to make kindness a daily habit.
Viewers can learn more, participate in kindness challenges, and join the movement at Kindland’s official website, www.BeKindland.org.
