New Album Released By Freelance Bassist, Howard Head

Howard Head, freelance bassist, is thrilled to announce that he can be heard on the recently released album, Thomas Heppell. With eleven tracks of blues and rock, Howard encourages those considering his services to give the album a listen.

Howard Head, Msc, a freelance bass player, available for hire throughout the year, has just released an album to every major streaming service under his moniker, Bass Head. Featured eleven tracks and recorded in 7 days, but with much more time spent preparing behind the scenes, Thomas Heppell is Howard’s new album, an exploration of blues music with the experience he has gained through his 15+ years of playing bass guitar.

Completed in collaboration with guitarist and lead Thomas Heppell, drummer Jack Bryant, mixed by Madison Claridge, and mastered at Metropolis Studio, the album showcases, among other things, Howard’s skill, expertise, and range as a bassist, alongside the many other musical projects that he has been involved in. The album is available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and every major streaming service.

Howard Head, who also plays under the name Howard “Bass Head,” offers freelance bass services, available for hire throughout the year, be it for a gig or for a recording session. A highly experienced and educated player, he played with renowned ensembles like the Royal Marines Band Training Band and the BBC Big Band at the Royal Hospital School.

After enrolling at the Academy of Contemporary Music, Howard learned under the mentorship of eminent musicians and teachers like Brian Henry (Soul II Soul, Shola Ama, Incognito), Sandy Beales (One Direction, Wheatus, Loick Essien), Arron McSporran (Virvum, Mark Letteri), and Kevin Glasgow (Tommy Smith, Tim Garland).

Since then, Howard has played with a wide range of artists, including the popular Thomas Heppel Blues Band, who have just released the album on which Howard’s bass playing can now be heard on.

As a lifelong practitioner and student of music, Howard has also written a series of tuition books, aiming to make it much easier for aspiring bassists to glean lessons from everything he has learned in his 15+ years of playing and copious experience playing with some of the best in the art. His services also include remote recording, bass transcription, and teaching for those looking to pick up the bass guitar.

Those who want to know more about Howard’s offerings can visit his website to listen to some of his recordings, to see the projects that he has been involved in, and see the bass guitar and music theory books he has on offer. Howard also publishes a blog, which he regularly updates with tips and advice for bassists and musicians in general.
