Instead of a holiday, the Buggyra Academy France drivers will be competing in the third round of the French Truck Racing Championship this weekend. The series heads to the heart of France, to the renowned Magny-Cours circuit.
-- Téo Calvet arrives as the championship leader with a 17-point advantage over Thomas Robineau. Raphaël Sousa currently holds third place, with his father José in fourth.
"We’re looking forward to Magny-Cours. That’s where we’ll wrap up the first half of the season. It’s important to keep the same pace as before because we performed well during the first two weekends. This year, scoring points in every race is crucial. Robineau is a very strong opponent and will definitely fight to the end—just like us. As a team, we need to stick together and go step by step to achieve our goal," said Fabien Calvet, head of Buggyra Academy France.
Téo Calvet is also eager for the third round of the domestic championship—even though he has only raced at Magny-Cours twice and doesn't count it among his favourite tracks.
"We won here last year, so we should be competitive again this weekend. In Nogaro, we saw how strong the other contenders are—especially Thomas Robineau—so we’ll have to battle it out with him at Magny-Cours. We can’t afford any technical issues; we must finish all four races," said Téo.
The reigning champion also highlights one major challenge of the French circuit: "The kerbs at Magny-Cours are very high, so we’ll need to be cautious. The key is to maintain our lead in the championship. We need to score points, win races, and gather more valuable results. That’s the goal and the key to a successful weekend," added Téo Calvet.
The French championship weekend consists of four races. On both days, the starting grid for the first race is determined by qualifying and the subsequent Super Pole. The second race, which offers fewer points, features a reversed grid for the top drivers.
