World College of Refractive Surgery & Visual Sciences Inducts Dr. Aaron Waite as Fellow

In his capacity as Fellow, Dr. Waite is tasked with defining best practices for LASIK and refractive surgeries and establishing the standards for refractive surgery worldwide. He will also contribute to setting the bar for qualifications required for refractive surgeons, prompting a considerable transformation in the perception and practice of refractive surgery.

The genesis of WCRS is a historic occurrence that brought together leading refractive surgeons from nearly 17 countries. Their shared mission is to elevate the field of refractive surgery across four key dimensions—educationally, scientifically, economically, and socially—on a global scale. The organization is also focused on boosting the number of refractive surgeons worldwide, combating preventable blindness, and making a significant social impact.

Reflecting on his appointment as a WCRS Fellow, Dr. Waite underscores the gravity of the responsibility that comes with the title.
