The Wired Lobby partners with Katana Gaming for LAN tournaments

By: PRLog

This partnership will align The Wired Lobby venues with LAN tournaments operated by Katana Gaming. Katana will use the esports venue in Captain Cook Square, Middlesbrough as their esports teams home ground.

MIDDLESBROUGH, U.K. - Dec. 31, 2022 - PRLog -- Due to open in early 2023, The Wired Lobby, is a unique esports venue, featuring 50 plus gaming PC's, an arena accommodating up to 100 persons, with a stage area for teams to compete on, racing simulators, VIP area, streaming facilities and a fully licensed Café.

Katana Gaming was created in May 2020 and has rapidly risen to become one of the leading UK and Ireland esports brands and organisers of online tournaments. To enhance their offering, Katana has partnered with The Wired Lobby to provide the EU Amateur Pro Call of Duty community with LAN events. Katana has a content creation division within a community which is showing excellent growth and paving the way for grassroots esports.

The venue was designed with tournaments in mind and after an initial consultation with Katana, it was apparent that a partnership would be perfect for both parties. It is planned to host several LAN tournaments a year with the first expected to be in April or May of 2023 and this exclusive deal means Katana and The Wired Lobby will work together to put on events, second to none.

Online tournaments will be opened up to The Wired Lobby franchise as it builds its community.

"Tournaments were always part of the vision, as it was apparent that there was nowhere for gamers to go and watch teams live in play and for players to sit alongside their team mates and physically enjoy their successes.

The concept, layout and design came from Edwin Ford, who had a vision of what could be possible. "After the teams months of dialogue, with the university and several gaming studios in the area, we knew we had the right offering. The partnership with Katana is a perfect match, as we look to develop our tournaments both in the venue and online. The agreement for Katana Gaming to be the exclusive providers of Call of Duty and Valorant tournaments, is really exciting for us."
