Labor costs climb 0.5% in fourth quarter, ECI shows

The amount of money it costs businesses to employ workers rose a touch slower in the fourth quarter owing to the smallest increase in benefits in a year and a half. The employment cost index rose 0.5% in the final three months of 2016.
