NABA Members Appointed to Advisory Committees for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy

The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) is proud to highlight six members that were appointed as advisory committee members for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy on June 21, 2017.

GREENBELT, MD, October 18, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) is proud to highlight the following NABA members that were appointed as advisory committee members for the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy on June 21, 2017.

- Felicia Farrar - Continuing Professional Education Committee (CPE)
- Sandra Gates - Qualifications Committee
- Teererai Mwaramba - Behavioral Enforcement Committee (BEC)
- LaNita Ray - Licensing Committee
- Glenniece Stewart - Peer Review Committee
- Dilliana Stewart - Technical Standards Review Committee

"We are honored to have NABA members serve on The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) as advisory committee members," said Steven Harris, CPA, NABA Board Chair. "The selected NABA members are all exceptional professionals and leaders in their companies and communities. "The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) is very proud to announce the appointment of several National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. members as advisory members to various Texas Board committees," said TSBPA Executive Director William Treacy.

Presiding Officer J. Coalter Baker, CPA made the appointments. During his 11-year tenure on the Board, he's witnessed an increasing diversity of candidates who attend the swearing-in ceremonies for new Texas CPAs. "Texas is a dynamic place to live and work," Baker remarked. "Our profession must continue to be dynamic as well. We must draw upon the talents of individuals with fresh ideas and diverse backgrounds to meet this challenge. The Board committees require this as well. The individuals appointed have stellar professional backgrounds and a willingness to help the Board meet its primary task of protecting the public."

These advisory members are a tremendous asset to the Board because they augment the talents of Board members and bring an added dimension of skills and expertise to the important work of these committees," Treacy concluded.
