Darrel Eason – Legendary St. Louis On-Air Host and Program Director – to Program Praise 95.1 for Salem Media Group

Salem Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:SALM), announced today that Darrel Eason – former Majic 104.9 and Hallelujah 1600 program director and nighttime host – has been named program director and morning-drive personality for the new contemporary urban gospel Praise 95.1. Eason has been a staple on the airwaves in St. Louis since November 1989.

“Darrel’s success in R&B and urban Gospel radio is unquestioned in St. Louis,” said Greg Lhamon, Vice President and General Manager for Salem Media Group, the parent company of Praise 95.1. “He has passion for this city and a strong desire to build a powerful urban gospel station for the African-American community. Praise 95.1 is the first FM radio station to play contemporary Gospel music in St. Louis. The format will feature artists such as Travis Greene, Tamela Mann, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Marvin Sapp, and Tasha Cobbs.

In addition to programming the station, Eason will host the morning show called, “The Morning Praise.”
