Higher open as Senate continues tax overhaul

The markets opened higher with the Dow gaining 45 points to 23,625 as the Senate continued working on its overhaul of the tax code. Nasdaq rose 15 points to 6,893.


On the upside


Buffalo Wild Wings (Nasdaq: BWLD) will be acquired by Roark Capital Group in a deal valued at approximately $2.4 billion.


Thor Industries (NYSE: THO) reported record first quarter earnings and revenue that beat expectations.


Shares of Roku (Nasdaq: ROKU) extended its gains.

On the downside


Momo (Nasdaq: MOMO) reported higher third quarter earnings and revenue but the stock price fell.


A total of 1.2 million shares of Advanced Micro Devices (Nasdaq: AMD) were sold by insiders in the past three months.


Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX) will participate in the Citi 2017 Global Healthcare Conference on December 7, 2017.


In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of more than 4 to 3 on the NYSE and by 6 to 5 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 rose 4 points to 2,605. Bitcoin leaped $259 to $9,887.
