Good Neighbor Pharmacy Receives “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Chain Drug Store Pharmacies” Award from J.D. Power

Good Neighbor Pharmacy, a national independent pharmacy network offered through AmerisourceBergen, has been ranked “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with Chain Drug Store Pharmacies” in the J.D. Power 2017 U.S. Pharmacy Study. This is Good Neighbor Pharmacy’s sixth recognition in eight years: 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.

“In today’s market, it takes a lot of expertise, focus and energy to create a preferred healthcare and retail destination and establish loyalty. Creating this type of destination starts with understanding that quality and convenience are critically important to patients and retail consumers, but both types of customers may define these attributes differently,” said Brian Nightengale, SVP, Community & Specialty Pharmacy and President of Good Neighbor Pharmacy. “As the most accessible source of care in their communities, independent pharmacies are in a unique position to deliver the high-touch, personalized experience that both patients and retail consumers have come to expect. We are humbled by this year’s J.D. Power recognition; it’s a testament to the exceptional service and care that each of our Good Neighbor Pharmacy members provide every single day.”

This year, Good Neighbor Pharmacy ranked the highest in overall satisfaction among brick-and-mortar Chain Drug Stores; Good Neighbor Pharmacy scored an 889 while the average was 849. Additionally, Good Neighbor Pharmacy received a 5, the highest rating, in the J.D.Power.com Power Circle Ratings. Power Circle Ratings are one of the only sources of consumer ratings based on independent and unbiased feedback from a representative sample of verified product and service owners. Additional key findings from the study found that Good Neighbor Pharmacy:

  • Exceeded the brick-and-mortar average for eight out of the nine key performance indicators, and achieved the highest scores within the Chain Drug Stores segment in two study factors:
    • “Waited 1 minute or less before speaking to a live person” in the Chain Drug Stores Prescription Ordering/Pick-Up Process category
    • “Non-pharmacist staff offered to assist you” in the Chain Drug Stores Non-Pharmacist Staff category

The U.S. Pharmacy Study, now in its ninth year, measures customer satisfaction with brick-and-mortar, mail order, and specialty pharmacies. The 2017 study is based on responses from 17,326 pharmacy customers who filled a new prescription or refilled a prescription during the three months prior to the survey period of May-June 2017.
