December 11, 2017 - The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has published a new rule regarding electronic injury and illness recordkeeping data submissions. As a result, an all-new mobile app has been released by Mobile Formz and it is called OSHAFormz. This app will aid field supervisors and safety officers in recording and tracking workplace injuries as well as illnesses using tablets and smart phones.
“The new rule of OSHA directs employers to take internal data about work-related illnesses and injuries, and submit this information to OSHA for publication on a website that would be made available to the general public,” said the spokesperson of OSHA, while talking about the new rule. This new app not only records incidents but also automatically calculates the summary totals and creates PDF reports in the exact format of OSHA forms 300, 300A and 301.
In addition, OSHAFormz mobile app has many remarkable features and benefits. It is designed to work seamlessly without any internet connection. Incident or injury information can be collected at the exact time and location they happen and not days later. Businesses with 20 or more employees in certain high risk industries that are required to electronically submit incidents and injuries reports to OSHA can immensely benefit with this app.
The app is available for download on iTunes for iPhones and iPads now and Android version will be available in the first quarter of 2018. The goal of OSHAFormz is to help organizations be fully compliant with OSHA regulations in capturing injury and illness information and better monitor remote work sites and incidents more accurately to make them safer for employees.
