From Oil Painting to 3D Printing: Join the Artist MG's Creative Adventure as she Lives & Works around the World

By: PRLog
NEW YORK - Dec. 14, 2017 - PRLog -- The artist M launched her Patreon page today at https://www.patreon.com/MGartist and is opening her traveling studio to all.  Not only is she giving an insider look at her work in progress, but she's asking for your feedback.  Supporters can follow along and enjoy the experience.  Or they can examine her sketches, watercolor studies and oil paintings or hold a 3D printed prototype in their hand and give valuable advice.  It's an amazing way for people from all walks of life to take part in the development of artistic ideas and the 3D printing revolution.

M explains, "I left my studio in Brooklyn, New York, seven years ago to be a global nomad.  I love my lifestyle, but truly miss having a stable artistic community.  I'm looking for individuals who are excited to engage in the creative process."

The number of expats and 3D printing enthusiasts is steadily rising.  According to the United Nations in 2015, 244 million people live in a country other than where they were born, which is a 41 percent increase since 2000.  If this population were a country, it would be the fifth largest in the world.  What makes M's experience unique is that she hasn't settled in one place, she moves from location to location seeking inspiration and adventure in a large variety of environments and cultures. Another distinctive aspect of her lifestyle is that her artistic output ranges from the traditional fine art of oil painting to the new and innovative world of 3D printing.  According to Wohlers Report 2016, the additive manufacturing (3D printing) industry grew 25.9% to $5.165 billion in 2015.

Even if you couldn't draw a straight line to save your life or don't think you're particularly imaginative, don't count yourself out.  M believes that art should be a part of everyone's life; it shouldn't be insular or cliquish.  She says, "it's not what you buy, it's what you experience and how it enriches your life."

M started her career as a self-taught oil painter with her first solo exhibition at the prestigious Galeria de Arte Moderno, in Guadalajara, after moving to Mexico in 1999.  She showed her work throughout NYC and the US upon returning to the states in 2002.  In 2010, M began her current international adventure; living in Thailand, Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Croatia, Macedonia, and Albania, as well as visiting many other countries. At times, painting is impossible due to frequent moves, so M began 3D printing wearable art (jewelry and fashion accessories) in 2013 when she co-founded the boutique design firm sloris (https://www.sloris.com/).  She's currently residing in Martina Franca, Italy, will spend the holidays in London and Dublin and then return to Albania near the end of January.
