PlayerAuctions' PUBG Update for the Xbox One X and S

By: PRLog
There are still some problems with PUBG since it's still going through development. Besides, the game works as it should where it counts.
LOS ANGELES - Dec. 15, 2017 - PRLog -- In the wake of Xbox Australia's hit-and-miss PUBG launch event for the Xbox, many players wonder how much the game will cost on the console. If you are one of those curious people, then continue reading.

Good Where It Counts

The promised 30 frames per second aren't very consistent. Dropped frames are everywhere in the lobby and the initial parachute drop into the island. The whole sequence combines choppy audio and video. It might be enough to render the game unplayable.

However, after that horrible time in the air, once the avatar has landed on the map, the game smoothes out to the promised frame rate and graphics comparable to the game's high settings on PC, at least, on the One X. Some have said graphics on the One S are like the medium settings on PC, with less foliage and details. The detail might need adjustment for both consoles to even out the playing field, as the lower settings could be a bit of an advantage (less foliage = less cover, not that those on the Xbox One X would know).

Still a Work in Progress

Of course, the game is incomplete, as evidenced by its "Early Access" tag in its page in Steam's store catalog, as well as it gets released in Xbox's Game Preview feature. Expect many problems to continue popping up as time goes by, whether bugs, future update problems, or mechanics and features not working correctly. Also, the developers aren't thinking of implementing in-game purchases for Xbox yet, so, unfortunately, no PUBG skins for this version.

In the end, it's an excellent thing for players who prefer consoles and controllers over the PC and its keyboard and mouse. The game works as well as it does on the PC when it counts, so don't rule out this version of the game just yet.

Enjoy (attempting to get) your chicken dinners on Xbox One X or S!
