Parque Arauco S.A. (SSE: PARAUCO; Bloomberg: PARAUCO:CI) (“Parque Arauco”) announces that its total Gross Leasable Area has surpassed 1,000,000 m2 with the opening of Arauco Premium Outlet Bogota.
Parque Arauco opened its first shopping mall, Parque Arauco Kennedy, in 1982, and with the opening of Arauco Premium Outlet Bogota and MegaPlaza Villa El Salvador II, the company now has over 1,000,000 m2 of total GLA. Arauco Premium Outlet Bogota
Arauco Premium Outlet Bogotá required an investment of approximately 78,000 ThCOP (approximately US$ 27 million). The 13,000 m2 outlet is located in the neighborhood of Sopó, outside of Bogota, and is the company’s first outlet in Colombia. Parque Arauco already operates four outlets in Chile and two in Peru. The Colombian outlet will have more than 70 stores and will include premium brands such as Carolina Herrera, Coach, Victoria’s Secret, Purificación Garcia, Nike, and Adidas.
The opening of this outlet demonstrates Parque Arauco’s dedication to growing in the Colombian market. With the addition of this asset, the company now has 155,000 m2 in Colombia, with a total of four assets.
MegaPlaza Villa El Salvador II
MegaPlaza Villa El Salvador II required an investment of approximately 35,000 ThPEN (approximately US$ 11 million). The 10,000 m2 neighborhood shopping center is located in the southern part of Lima, and will host a variety of stores including a Tottus supermarket as well as a movie theater.
With the opening of MegaPlaza Villa El Salvador II, Parque Arauco now has 10 neighborhood shopping centers, and a total of 21 assets in Peru.
Parque Arauco has 1,015,500 m2 of total GLA in Chile, Peru, and Colombia. The company inaugurated its first shopping center in Chile in 1982, entered Peru in 2005 and Colombia in 2008. The company’s assets include seven regional shopping centers, four premium outlet malls and fourteen strip centers in Chile; six regional shopping centers, ten neighborhood centers, two premium outlet malls and three strip centers in Peru; and three regional shopping centers, and one outlet in Colombia as well as a large land bank to support the company’s future growth plans.
