Buildium Continues Exceptional Customer Growth into 2018

Buildium, the property management solution for real estate professionals, announced that it has experienced another year of exceptional growth. Along with significant customer and employee expansion, Buildium achieved important milestones in 2017, such as surpassing 14,000 customers and being named on the Inc. 5000 list for the 6th consecutive year, subsequently placing it on the “Inc. 5000 Honor Roll;” an achievement only 10% of all honorees earn.

Customer Expansion and Employee Hiring

By delivering on strategic product innovations and focusing on customer-first initiatives, Buildium has enabled its customers to reach a total of over 1.2M units under management. In 2017 alone, Buildium customers completed over 1M maintenance and resident requests, received 3.6M electronic payments, and helped nearly half a million people find a place to call home.

Buildium expanded its global team by nearly 16% and established offices in St. Louis, MO and Porto, Portugal.

Advancements in Product and Partnerships

Responding directly to customer requests and needs, Buildium introduced a number of improvements and product features in the past year, including:

  • Launched an interactive learning tool to help customers better use and benefit from the Buildium platform. The self-guided training program includes 14 courses so far, which include video tutorials and quiz sequences, along with real-time interaction via the user’s personal Buildium account.
  • Expanded functionality for Canadian customers including the ability to seamlessly transact with both residents and vendors, cutting the payment processing time in half.
  • Full rebuild of the mobile application to provide a better way for customers to manage properties from their pockets, now available in the App Store.

Industry Recognition and Community Involvement

In 2017, Buildium was also named to the Inc. 5000 list for the sixth year in a row and subsequently placed on the “Inc. 5000 Honor Roll,” the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 for the third consecutive year, and a Stevie Customer Service Award for the fourth year in a row for its exceptional customer contact center. Further, Monteiro was named a 2017 semifinalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year New England regional program for a second year in a row, and Buildium was named a finalist in the MITX Awards for “Best B2B Technology.”

Buildium was also named a leader in Gartner’s 2017 FrontRunners market analysis of property management solutions, which is based on actual end-user reviews and ratings with over 150 companies evaluated.

In continuation of its dedication to the community, Buildium donated $25,000 directly to 9 different charities, raised $87,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and granted $10,000 in scholarships to deserving students in STEM through its Build U. and Women in Technology scholarships.

In 2018, plans for expansion continue, including hiring 38 more people in Boston and other office locations, expanding its team by almost 30%.
