CURE® Magazine Announces Robin Roberts as Keynote Speaker for the 2018 Extraordinary Healer® Award for Oncology Nursing Event

CURE® magazine, the nation’s leading digital and print media enterprise focused on cancer patients, announces co-anchor of Good Morning America, best-selling author and cancer survivor Robin Roberts as the keynote speaker for the upcoming Extraordinary Healer® Award event.

“Robin Roberts is an inspiration to those impacted by cancer. Her increasing success and continued dedication to the field of cancer is truly commendable,” said Michael J. Hennessy Jr., president of Michael J. Hennessy Associates, parent company of CURE®. “We are thrilled to be joined by her in honoring oncology nurses who truly make a difference in their patients’ lives.”

Five years after getting diagnosed with breast cancer, Roberts was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) for which she endured a bone marrow transplant. Her decision to reveal her battle with life-threatening disease in a short documentary, “Robin’s Journey”, inspired hundreds of potential bone marrow donors to register. Her courage and strength were honored with George Foster Peabody Award, Gracie Award and CINE Award.

Roberts is best known as the co-anchor in ABC News’ Good Morning America, which won five Emmy Awards. Roberts most recent memoir “Everybody’s Got Something”, reveals her courageous journey battling a life-threatening illness and her inspiring return to the Good Morning America anchor desk.

The Extraordinary Healer® Award reception will take place on May 17 in conjunction to the Oncology Nursing Society’s 43rd Annual Congress in Washington, DC. For more information, visit https://www.curetoday.com/eh2018.
