TO ADDRESS THE UNITED NATIONS AS THE CLEAN WATER HERE GLOBAL AMBASSADOR – PITBULL – FEATURED IN ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’

Global sensation, Armando “Pitbull” Perez will address the UN about clean water efforts – reflecting on his past good deeds, those specific to his hometown of Miami and its urban street culture.

Los Angeles, CA - March 20, 2018 - Miami-born rapper, Pitbull, star on the soundtrack of ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ – a film made for the streets, by the streets – will be honored on March 22, World Water Day.

TriCoast Entertainment and Florida Film House presents ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ starring Cuban and Miami-born soundtrack global sensation, Armando “Pitbull” Perez, who was just announced to address the UN in March 2018 as the Clean Water Here Global Ambassador.

Pitbull is noted worldwide as a bilingual sensation for selling over than 70 million singles, performed in over 50 countries, and has created several chart-climbing songs including ‘Timber’, ‘Time of Our Lives’ featuring Ne-Yo, ‘The Anthem’ featuring Lil Jon.

Directed by Blademil Grullon (‘Love and Reality’, ‘Fade Away’) and produced by Marco Mall, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is a current day “Romeo & Juliet” love story where two Miami teens find themselves on the gritty, raw Miami streets battling their longtime conflicting cultures, as a Haitian and a Dominican.

As the first-ever film to be released as a national theatrical with the collaboration of Haitians and Dominicans, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ takes place on the urban, art streets of Miami, whose inhabitants are heavily influenced from the Caribbean Sea’s powerful cultural divide between the Haitians and Dominicans.

Pitbull has referenced the films ‘Scarface’ and ‘Miami Vice’, or ones that embody street drugs and violence when speaking about his life growing up on the urban streets of Miami. But, Miami’s street-beats mixed with Latin hip-hop are what influenced Pitbull’s music, lyrics, and dreams. "Miami has built my character, and it has taught me a lot about life and helped me in my career," remarked Pitbull to CBS News.

Known as “Mr. Worldwide”, Pitbull is known for his dedication to connect the hip-hop and the Latin worlds together and to encourage cultural crossovers, as he’s remained loyal and proud of his Miami roots with longtime nickname, “Mr. 305”, in reference to Miami’s area code to his third album in 2007, “The Boatlift”, referring to Cuba.

Pitbull’s experience growing up on the urban Miami streets has not only acted as “glue” for bilingual music, but also, conflicting cultures and those native to Miami. The rapper’s familiarity with struggling Miami teens led him to create ‘SLAM!’ (Sports, Leadership, Arts, and Management), a Miami charter school (grades 6 – 12) engaging children with little interest in education.

As SLAM! has become statewide, Pitbull has been involved with the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami and the Imaginate Foundation, both which aim to provide resources to low-income families in Miami.

More recently, it has been announced The Clean Water Here Foundation will honor Pitbull as the Clean Water Here Global Ambassador. The rapper is set “to address the UN General Assembly at their New York headquarters on World Water Day (March 22), where he will speak on the global water crisis and be honored for his humanitarian work on initiatives to improve access to clean water around the world,” wrote Noah Yoo from Pitchfork.

The Clean Water Here Foundation’s mission states that safe drinking water is a human right and necessary to all people, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religious beliefs, income, or political views. For this to remain a necessary human right for all, Clean Water Here Foundation works to improve access to supporting research and solutions, as well as advocating for undeserved communities both in the U.S. and abroad.

Further, “Pitbull is also launching a new social media campaign titled the ‘Clean Water Here Cause Flash,’ with other recording artists such as Bruno Mars, Pink, Maroon 5, Andra Day, and more looking to raise awareness for clean drinking water projects,” concluded Yoo.

Produced by Marco Mall, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ is gritty, raw and truthful, as it portrays Mall’s experiences growing up in the midst of Miami’s ongoing feud between the Haitian and Dominican cultures and brings to light Miami’s urban street culture.

With real-life experiences, utilization of Miami’s street culture and rappers, ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ spreads the message of harmony during a time of much international conflict. ‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ also provides the outside perspective of helping your own community, and how that can be impacted worldwide, with examples from the film’s “Mr. Worldwide” himself, Pitbull.

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ captures Miami’s urban and art culture exquisitely with cast members, Miguel “Fuego” Duran (Soundtrack of ‘Puerto Ricans in Paris’, written/ performed ‘Mami Mami’), Lexi Delarosa (‘Love and Reality’, ‘Zoe911’, ‘Mattie: The Discovery’), Paul Antoine (‘Love and Reality’), and Mitch Lemos (director of ‘A Haunting Expense’, ‘Fearless Heart’, ‘Fade Away’). Producer Marco Mall is the founder of the Urban Film Festival in Miami and runner of full-service production company based in the Wynwood section of Miami, Florida Film House and is credited for ‘Zoe911’, ‘Kevin Gates Short Film’, ‘Swingers Anonymous’.

‘A MIAMI LOVE STORY’ will be available on VOD platforms beginning April 16th, 2018 and will follow an exclusive U.S. theatrical.
