Telrad Networks Fixed LTE Solution Selected by City of Euless

Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative LTE telecom solutions, today announced that the City of Euless, Texas, has selected Telrad’s fixed LTE solution for their city-wide municipal applications, allowing for remote control and automation.

Euless is a city located just northeast of Dallas, Texas. Currently with a population of more than 54,000, the city has been experiencing a growth spurt as more people move to Euless from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, resulting in operational scaling issues.

In order to be more productive and better manage municipal assets, the city decided to deploy a wireless network to improve work force efficiency and flexibility.

Scott Joyce, CTO of City of Euless, stated, “Initially, each of the applications we were considering required the installation of a separate, proprietary, wireless network. If we followed that path, we would have ended up with several wireless networks, which would have had a huge cost and result in a logistics nightmare.”

Euless selected Telrad’s fixed LTE solution, including its flagship BreezeCOMPACT 1000 base station. The LTE deployment has enabled the city to automate traffic lights, school zone flashers, the aggregated collection of water meter data, and more.

The key considerations for selecting the Telrad solution were:

• Capable of running all applications on a single wireless network
• Standards-based – so the city could add other LTE equipment at any point in the future
• Software Defined Radio (SDR) platform, allowing for software-only upgrades
