SARASOTA, FL, May 17, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Parkinson Place, a program of the Parkinson Research Foundation, is proud to announce the addition of a medical cannabis treatment facility for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. The Parkinson Place Comprehensive Care Center cannabis clinic is set to open May 30, 2018, under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Stein, board-certified neurologist and founder of the Neurology of Cannabis clinic.

The inclusion of Stein's practice to the services offered at Parkinson Place is supported by Parkinson Research Foundation Medical Director Dr. Juan Sanchez-Ramos. Sanchez-Ramos is a published author and scholastic presenter who educates healthcare providers on the clinical uses of medical cannabis.

"I am looking forward to working alongside the esteemed Parkinson Place team," said Stein. "This partnership presents a great opportunity to provide education, foster wellness and improve quality of life for those affected by Parkinson's disease in our community."

Starting May 30, by appointment only, Stein is available every Wednesday at Parkinson Place Comprehensive Care Center to see individuals with Parkinson's disease that are interested in cannabinoid-based treatments. To schedule an appointment, call Stein's office at 941-400-1211 and ask to speak with Chanel. Qualified patients with Stein's recommendation will receive a Florida medical marijuana ID card, allowing purchases from an authorized state-licensed medical marijuana dispensary.

"Parkinson Place is thrilled to be one of the first organizations in the country to dedicate a medical cannabis center exclusively to the treatment of those with Parkinson's disease," said Parkinson Research Foundation Chairman Larry Hoffheimer. "Our alliance with Dr. Stein and his clinic is a tremendous advancement in facilitating the standardization of medical cannabis as a treatment for Parkinson's disease and associated disorders."
