Ex Amish girl's phenomenal journey intrigues host of an international TV program

She was eighteen years old when she fled across the country to a family in Harlingen. Finding the courage, strength, and relying on her faith, Emma found her freedom. Leaving the Amish with only an eighth-grade education, she made her education a priority. Determined to learn the English language, she received her GED and set her sights on her next goal, college. Ms. Gingerich not only earned a Bachelors degree but held down a full-time job and managed to write her memoir, continue her education, and eventually receive an MBA.
