Validus Specialty Hires Corina Monaghan to Political Risk and Credit Team in New York

Validus Specialty Underwriting Services, Inc. (“Validus Specialty”) today announced the hire of Corina Monaghan to lead its U.S. Political Risk and Credit Insurance team, based in New York. Validus Specialty provides brokers and clients in the Americas with a one-stop shop to access Political Risk and Credit insurance capacity from the Lloyd’s market, offering commercial counterparty, sovereign and country risks across a wide variety of sectors, geographies and structured trade finance products.

Corina Monaghan has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Head of Political Risk & Trade Credit to strengthen its Political Risk and Credit insurance team, based in New York. Corina brings to Validus her expertise in political risk, both public and private sector underwriting, and broking, as well as her deep client relationship network in both North and South America, and across Europe, leveraging her fluency in German, Spanish and Portuguese. Previously, Corina was head of Political Risks for JLT North America where she spearheaded consulting and brokerage of crisis management.

With Corina’s hire, Validus Specialty will build on the success of their established $255 million binding authority, as well as its own significant dedicated capacity.
