Second Annual Global Reman Day Set for April 11, 2019

Join Reman Companies Around the World as They Elevate and Raise Awareness of Remanufacturing

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - January 22, 2019 - (Newswire.com)

April 11, 2019 marks the second annual Reman Day when remanufacturers around the globe will again host students, teachers, community leaders, employees, elected officials, suppliers, and the general public at open houses, plant tours and educational sessions to showcase the importance of remanufacturing.

Reman Day is an annual global event yet is executed at the local level. Remanufacturers host events designed to showcase the economic and environmental benefits of remanufacturing.

RemanDay.org provides companies with the opportunity to register their event and access to planning resources. In 2018, there were 127 registered events spanning across 6 continents. “We know that more companies are planning events this year as well as collaborating with one another. We have updated the RemanDay.org website with a more convenient registration process and included more planning resources. We are excited to announce that the Reman Day store will include more products for companies to use at their events,” explains Jenn Brake, Marketing and Membership Director for the Remanufacturing Industries Council. Companies can look forward to the store opening on Jan. 27.

Reman Day is a collective effort by the Remanufacturing Industries Council (RIC) and five remanufacturing sector associations – AFRA, APRA, ARSA, I-ITC, and PEARL, as well as the Reman World publication. Reman Day was established to educate the world about the value of remanufacturing and draw attention to the critical role it plays in the circular economy.

Remanufacturing is a comprehensive and rigorous industrial process by which a previously sold, leased, used, worn, or non-functional product or part is returned to a “like-new” or “better-than-new” condition, from both a quality and performance perspective, through a controlled, reproducible, and sustainable process.

Remanufacturing saves, on average, 85% of energy, water, and material use compared to a newly manufactured product. It supports well over 180,000 full-time jobs and produces more than $45 billion of remanufactured goods each year in the United States.
