NEW YORK, NY, August 21, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Take The Lead (https://www.taketheleadwomen.com), a nationally recognized non-profit whose mission is to achieve gender equality in leadership by 2025, today announced the launch of "Power to Change Conversations," a webinar series devoted to offering substantive solutions to racism and gender equality issues, on Women's Equality Day on August 26th at 1 PM ET. Hosted by Felicia Davis, a Take The Lead leadership ambassador and the founder of The Black Women's Collective, the series premiere guest is Jamia Wilson, the executive director and publisher of the Feminist Press at the City University of New York. "There is much necessary discussion about uncovering centuries of injustice against people of color and women," says Gloria Feldt, the co-founder and president of Take The Lead. "But we saw a need for dialogue on what can be done immediately to right the wrongs, and 'Power to Change Conversations' will offer actionable solutions for the issues of the day."

The fee for the webinar is $50 for those who are employed and $25 for those who have been laid off or furloughed. "'Power to Change Conversations' will assist Take The Lead in providing scholarships for women who want to participate in our programs," notes Feldt. "While we have significantly lowered costs as a result of Covid-19, there are still those who can't afford the very training and coaching that can help them prepare for their next career moves. We are committed to making our offerings available to as many women as possible, especially to women who are bearing the brunt of the pandemic professionally. The series will help us, in part, to achieve that goal, and premiering on Women's Equality Day is perfect timing."

Each segment of the Zoom-based series will run for 35 minutes, which will include ten minutes reserved for audience questions. "We want the audience to be engaged, to be able to communicate directly with us," says Davis. "We want them to have their voices heard and to contribute to the conversation." Those who register, even if they can't attend, will receive a link to watch afterward.

As for the program's premier guest, notes Davis, "Jamia is an example of a woman who gets it done. She is admired in all quarters for her work, her writings, and her activism for social justice. I know she will have a lot to share and say."

Upcoming guests include Jennifer Brown, Joi Gordon and Ginny Brzezinski.
