Meet the CEO behind the Nationwide Virtual Academy - Higher Learning Education

Higher Learning Founder creates virtual learning academy with equity as the primary focus.

NEW HAVEN, CT, August 27, 2020 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Chaka McEntire has devoted her career expanding access and equity to learners of color. Dr. McEntire's passion for education was fueled by her personal experiences as a child and student, learning and growing in Harlem, a historically black neighborhood within New York City. Her educational foundation consists of communication and organizational development, school counseling and human services. All of which provided Dr. McEntire with the breadth and depth to assess and address the needs of underserved children in an education setting. Her comprehension of the problems children of color face, coupled with her cognizance of organization structure and operation - Dr. McEntire is equipped to create change. Her expertise is sought after and she has been a diligent community member, as co-founder of a state grassroots charter school in Connecticut, Booker T. Washington Academy.

Dr. McEntire's goal of building an organization that functioned optimally was met through the creation of Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Programs and The Connecticut College Access Network organizations that both focus to increase Equal Access and Opportunity for all minority, low income, and first-generation college students. To date, the organizations have helped over 10,000 graduates from high school and enroll in college. With over 20 years of experience working with youth of color to achieve their career and educational goals through a person-centered approach, mentorship, and experiential learning - she has exceeded her goal.

As our world continues to change rapidly, Dr. McEntire has set out yet again to reach another goal, educational equity for children of color. Offering students in grades K-12 with the opportunity to grow through a holistic educational approach, she is tipping the scales and providing youth access to more just education. Higher Learning Education launches on September 1, 2020. This education tool is vital to our community as we face challenges and require alternative educational approaches for our children.

About the company:
Our vision is for every student to have full and equitable access to educational courses that advance their own independent learning in Math, Science, English, Civic & Social Learning, the Arts, and Technology.
