Company Formerly Known as Rightdevice Changes Name to PatientPartner to Better Reflect Mission
The PatientPartner team.
The San Diego-based company formerly known as Rightdevice has changed its name to PatientPartner to better reflect what they do as a company. They realized that finding the right medical device was a small part of what they do, and that connecting patients was at the heart of what they do.

Rightdevice, a company that aims to reinvent the patient experience by connecting current surgical patients to patients who have recently undergone the same procedure, is changing its name to PatientPartner.

The name PatientPartner comes from a successful program the company implemented with the goal of offering surgical patients more control and transparency while also assisting surgeons, hospitals, and device companies in building a long-term referral network of patients by creating a one-of-a-kind patient experience.  Through PatientPartner, someone who is going to undergo a surgery is connected with another patient who has already gone through that same surgery, often with the same doctor.  It gives patients the unique experience to ask questions to someone who has gone through the same experience, to allay any misgivings they have about surgery, and ask any questions they have.  They are given a partner in the surgical experience.  So, for example, if a patient is going through bariatric surgery, their surgeon can put them in touch with a former patient who has gone through bariatric surgery with them, to tell them what to expect and what the recovery was like.

George Kramb, one of the co-founders of PatientPartner, says, "After hearing from our customers, patients, and users, we understand where our company provides the largest impact in the patient community, and that is with our PatientPartner Program.  This program has been the biggest driver for us as an organization and offers patients an unparalleled experience within the healthcare industry, which is greatly needed."

Patrick Frank, one of the co-founders of PatientPartner adds,  "Rebranding as PatientPartner was a company-wide decision and brings clarity to everyone on what we do.  Having the right device for a surgery was just a small part of what we do—our patients have overwhelmingly told us that our PatientPartner program is what truly gave them peace of mind going into surgery."

PatientPartner

PatientPartner is a platform that helps patients navigate their surgical journey. PatientPartner turns the daunting surgical process into a positive and comforting experience by connecting patients through relatable experiences.  PatientPartner offers the first program that connects pre-surgical patients directly with fully recovered patients who went through the same surgery, often with the same surgeon.

This program is designed to assist surgeons, hospitals, and device companies in building a long-term referral network of patients by creating a one-of-a-kind patient experience. This peer-to-peer patient advocacy program gives users the opportunity to learn from real experiences, and helps empower patients to achieve more successful outcomes through connectivity.
