Virginia to remove Robert E. Lee statue pedestal in Richmond: 'Successful conclusion'

The pedestal on which a controversial statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee stood for 131 years in Richmond, Virginia, before being dismantled in September is also slated to be removed, Gov. Ralph Northam announced Sunday.
