NEWS RELEASE FROM HARMONY
28 October 2004
Further diversionary tactics by Gold Fields discovered (whats next?)
Harmonys management in the Free State have discovered that workers who are members of Solidarity, representing 3% of Gold Fields employees, at Beatrix mine are being bussed by management on Monday, 1 November, to protest against the Harmony bid at Welkom.
The workers will be handing over a Memorandum to the Mayor.
Harmonys Executives find this behaviour by Gold Fields management deplorable and not in the interests of the South African mining industry, the economy, or long-term shareholders of either company.
