Item 8.01 Other Events.

On January 18, 2018, MetLife, Inc. issued a news release announcing the filing of a joint motion to dismiss the Financial Stability Oversight Council’s appeal of the district court decision rescinding MetLife, Inc.’s designation as a non-bank systemically important financial institution. A copy of the news release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
