Item 5.02 - Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

On January 30, 2007, Buckeye Technologies Inc.’s Compensation Committee approved a salary increase of $35,000 per year for Mr. Steven G. Dean, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. This increase is intended by the Company to more closely align Mr. Dean’s base compensation with that of other senior officers in the Company. Following the salary increase, which was effective February 1, 2007, Mr. Dean’s base salary is $200,000.
