On October 13, 2004, Lam Research Corporation (the Company) issued a press release announcing its earnings for the fiscal quarter ended September 26, 2004, the text of which is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.

On October 13, 2004, Lam Research Corporation issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to $250 million of the Company’s common stock from the public market or in private purchases.
