From Shark Tank to Wealth Management | Lessons of Life and Entrepreneurship
MATAWAN, NJ / ACCESSWIRE / March 21, 2024 / Recently, GRANTvest Financial Group co-founder and Shark Tank entrepreneur Anthony Caputo had an opportunity to impact the future leaders of tomorrow when he was asked to be the keynote speaker at Fordham University. At the request of the Fordham Foundry, an Entrepreneurship organization within the Gabelli School of Business, Anthony was told to tell "his story." For one hour, Anthony commanded a room of nearly 300 students and faculty members of the Gabelli School of Business about life lessons and entrepreneurship. Anthony had one goal in mind: to inspire.
Anthony Caputo Keynote Speaker
Anthony was faced with many challenges early in life and in the business world. Rather than give a presentation about business plans, raising capital, or building a brand, he instead made his speech about life's challenges; how to overcome and keep pushing forward, and that your business must go on.
Anthony Caputo and GRANTvest Financial Group co-founder Gregory Guenther have been partners for nearly two decades. They know firsthand that life will happen, but that you still have a business to tend to, and clients who still have a need and an expectation. Time will not wait for anyone.
The audience was laser-focused when Anthony began to share his Shark Tank journey. In 2014, Anthony had the fortunate opportunity to pitch the Sharks and secure a deal. The Sharks would prove to be instrumental, helping them ink a deal that would get their product, The Paint Brush Cover, into Home Depot stores nationwide.
"I knew I only had an hour to impact these students. My idea was to give it to them straight. Not sugarcoat life or entrepreneurship. I needed to prepare them for the things they weren't prepared for. I put myself in their shoes. I tried to share with them anything and everything I wished someone would have told me when I was 19/20 years old," said Anthony.
Perhaps the moment of the evening came after Anthony's presentation. In the back of the room, one student asked if he could hug Anthony after posing for a picture. This student began to cry. The student's father had just passed away three weeks before this event and the student contemplated dropping out of college. When Anthony touched on losing his father at 19 and being in college, feeling lost, the student felt as though Anthony was speaking directly to him. He felt inspired by Anthony and stated, "It was as if God put me in this room tonight. He gave me all the hope I needed. He gave me all the hope."
It was at that moment, Anthony knew he had done his job. Anthony looks forward to continuing to impact the lives of tomorrow's leaders and building GRANTvest Financial Group with his team.
