With three decades of experience in the industry, he currently serves as a senior systems engineer at Bechtel, where he has contributed to the company's requirements management department since 2022. As of 2025, he has recently relocated from the Mobile Launcher 2 project on behalf of NASA to Bechtel's Uranium Processing Facility.

Before joining Bechtel, Mr. Jones worked as a senior systems engineer and human factors lead at Morson Canada, located in Titusville, Florida, from 2022 to 2023. Here, he was recognized for his significant contributions to the field of engineering.

A Notable Career in Engineering

Mr. Jones's other engineering roles include positions as a senior systems engineer for ProActive Technologies LLC from 2021 to 2022 and as a systems engineer III SME in modeling and simulations at the ARES Corp. in Merritt Island, Florida, from 2020 to 2021. He worked in a similar capacity at another Merritt Island-based company, Avatar Technologies Inc., from 2019 to 2020.

Mr. Jones began his engineering career with the Florida Department of Transportation in St. Augustine, Florida, where he served as a senior heavy equipment supervisor in 2010. From there, he advanced to a role as an infrastructure systems engineer IV SME at General Dynamics Information from 2010 to 2016. He later became an engineering analyst II SME at Qualis Corporation from 2016 to 2019 and held the same role at QuantiTech in Tullahoma, Tennessee, in 2019.

A Background in the Army

From 1995 to 2015, Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Army, Army and Navy Reserves and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a heavy equipment supervisor and generator/utility equipment repair technician. His military service provided him with a firm base of discipline and technical training to launch his successful and gratifying civilian career in engineering.

Mr. Jones' technical expertise stems in part from his education. He earned a master's degree in cybersecurity from American Military University in 2018 and a bachelor's degree in business administration and IT information management technology from Columbus Southern University in 2015. To further enhance his skills, he completed specialized training to earn a master level preventive maintenance technician certification from Mainstream Engineering Corporation in 2015 and a certification in construction engineering and management from the University of Michigan in 2025.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Jones can be found woodworking, fishing, traveling, doing yardwork and spending time with his family. Although he plans to continue working with Bechtel in the future, he is also planning his retirement and is gradually reducing his workload in preparation.
