D-Wave to Participate in Quantum World Congress 2024

Company to highlight its global leadership in advancing quantum science and expediting near-term quantum computing adoption across public and private sectors

D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NYSE: QBTS) (“D-Wave” or the “Company”), a leader in quantum computing systems, software, and services and the world’s first commercial supplier of quantum computers, announced its participation at Quantum World Congress, to be held Sept. 9-11 at Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia. Aligned with the event’s mission to propel the acceleration and commercialization of quantum technologies, D-Wave leaders will bring unique perspectives from the front line of quantum innovation and adoption across a variety of scheduled appearances.

D-Wave’s Quantum World Congress participation includes the following – all times are published in Eastern Time:

  • Allison Schwartz, D-Wave’s global government relations and public affairs leader, will contribute to a dynamic workshop titled “Quantum & Sustainability,” aimed at establishing an international consortium on quantum technologies for sustainability applications. The workshop will take place on Sept. 9 from 12:45 to 2:45 p.m.
  • Dr. Andrew King, senior distinguished scientist at D-Wave who has led some of the company’s most significant quantum performance research, will participate in a panel titled “Country Showcase: The Canadian Ecosystem,” taking place on Sept. 10 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Dr. King will highlight scientific and technological achievements from D-Wave’s Canadian-based Quantum R&D Center of Excellence.
  • In addition, Dr. King will participate in the panel “Quantum Advantage: Deciphering the Timeline, Pathways, and Implications” on Sept. 11, from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. During the panel, he will share recent advancements in quantum computing technology, considering lawmakers’ views on quantum computing’s near-term applications.
  • Attendees can visit booth #23 for in-depth demos and conversations with the D-Wave team to better understand how D-Wave’s technology is solving real-world problems today and learn about the company’s recent breakthrough scientific advancements.

D-Wave's participation at Quantum World Congress comes amidst burgeoning interest in the company’s annealing quantum computing technology from research and development entities, government agencies and organizations serving the public sector. Most recently, D-Wave and Davidson announced plans to bring a D-Wave Advantage™ system to Alabama, an initiative that is garnering strong support from local and federal lawmakers who recognize quantum computing’s growing role in national security and economic competitiveness.
