Consumer Direct Holdings, Inc. Announces New Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) that Strengthens Mission, Supports Long-Term Sustainability, and Empowers Caregivers

Consumer Direct Holdings, Inc. (CDH), known as Consumer Direct Care Network (CDCN), is proud to announce a transformational step in its commitment to long-term care. CDH is now partially employee-owned through the formation of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT)—a model that puts caregivers at the center of company success. CDCN is Certified Employee Owned, with more than 30% of the company dedicated to employee ownership.

Across the country, more than 135,000 CDCN caregivers are redefining self-directed care—empowering themselves and their clients to decide how services are delivered. Caregivers are the backbone of the long-term care system, providing critical support that allows people to live with dignity, independence, and choice. With the launch of the EOT, eligible caregivers will join administrative employees to share in the company’s success through a profit-sharing model designed to honor the essential contributions of caregivers.

“Care is not a commodity,” says Ben Bledsoe, CEO and President. “The people who dedicate their lives to providing care deserve better than boardroom decisions that put profit over people. That’s why we are making a lasting investment in care—and in those who deliver it every single day.”

The Employee Ownership Trust supports several key goals:

  • Recognizes caregivers as essential partners by valuing their contributions and including them in the company’s future success.
  • Protects the mission and integrity of care by ensuring that company decisions remain focused on people over profit.
  • Secures long-term sustainability through a thoughtful ownership transition that strengthens CDCN in a competitive care landscape.

Since 1990, CDCN has empowered people to direct their own care through self-direction, allowing individuals to choose and manage the caregiver who best supports their needs. These relationships are built on trust, respect, and deep personal connection—qualities caregivers bring to their work every day. This new ownership model mirrors that same philosophy within CDCN by honoring caregivers as trusted partners in the company’s future.

“By sharing ownership with the people who provide care every day, we are building a stronger company and a stronger future for the communities we serve,” adds Bledsoe.
