Lauren Crocker Announces New Hippotherapy Equine Center as Part of Saddled Souls Initiative for Children
The non-profit organization will specialize in hippotherapy to assist children with disabilities

The founder of Saddled Souls, Lauren Crocker, is pleased to announce the grand opening of her equine-centric hippotherapy oasis in Clarksville, Tenn., a suburb of Nashville.

Crocker’s passion for horses and her laser focus on helping children with disabilities has brought her dream of taking Saddled Souls to the next level, a reality. As it currently stands, she is set to introduce a new property for clients, which will include her five horses, with an eye for even more expansion. The non-profit was also recently approved as a healthcare provider by NPIR.org, with a Type-2 designation in pediatrics.

Crocker and Co. practice hippotherapy as the specialized treatment that physical, occupational, and speech therapists use by implementing the natural movement and personality of the horse to address the cognitive, emotional, sensory, and physical aspects of children to improve their overall independence and life skills.

“I’m seeking to serve children through the Saddled Souls initiative and ultimately make a difference in the lives of those who have special needs or disabilities,” Crocker said. “Equine hippotherapy is especially beneficial for children with sensory impairments.”

Having designed her own unique brushes, tack and other massaging tools for the horses, Crocker is seeking a manufacturer to bring this dream to life. The accessories also make for a sensory-soothing experience for children. The budding non-profit organization is also currently seeking to pair its on-staff occupational therapist with others across, physical therapy, speech therapy and mental health counselors, to round out the staff, to offer a multitude of services for clients and their families.

“This experience will offer children a feeling of freedom, from the smell of the fresh air, to the grounding techniques that nature brings, it’s a place of peace,” said Crocker. “Everyone should experience the unconditional love that a horse provides.”

Crocker’s company is currently accepting donations for ‘Tack’, and adaptive riding equipment and accessories for horses, including saddles, bridles, harnesses, stirrups, reins, halters and others, to assist in its growth and better serve its clients. Additionally, volunteers are always encouraged as well.
