StrideCare is proud to announce the addition of Dr. Ricardo Chica, DPM of Austin Foot & Ankle Specialists to their network. StrideCare is the largest Texas-based multi-specialty medical network including podiatry, vascular, and wound care providers.

About Ricardo Chica, DPM

Dr. Ricardo Chica’s comprehensive knowledge of podiatry covers the full array of foot and ankle care. From elective and non-elective foot and ankle reconstructive surgery to sports medicine to diabetic limb salvage, his broad training has enabled him to help patients with life changing treatments for the lower extremities. Other areas of his vast training include complex trauma of the foot and ankle, ankle and rearfoot arthroscopy and surgical correction of lower extremity deformities.

Dallas-based StrideCare is a physician’s group at the forefront of comprehensive care for the lower extremities. Its providers are located all over Texas and offer multidisciplinary treatment options for complications involving the lower leg, including the foot and ankle.

Dr. Chica received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Texas Pan-American. He then left Texas and travelled to the northeast to attend Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. His education continued with a 3-year residency at Northwell Health-Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, NY.

Given the opportunity to train at a level 1 pediatric trauma center, Dr. Chica gained invaluable operative and non-operative pediatric foot management experience at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Likewise, he was exposed to extensive expertise in sports medicine for the lower extremities while working with the NCAA Division 1 athletic department at Fordham University. Adding to his qualifications, Dr. Chica completed the AAFAO Comprehensive and Advanced Courses of Internal Fixation for Reconstructive Surgery and Trauma of the Foot and Ankle, and the International Foot and Ankle Foundation Arthroscopy training with nationally renowned foot and ankle surgeons.

Dr. Chica is a native Spanish speaker and a proud and active member of the Hispanic community. He has served as a Medical Spanish instructor and helped develop a reference book of medical Spanish. He also strives to help under-served communities by educating them about podiatric care and diabetes.

Dr. Chica is thrilled to be back in Texas providing exceptional foot and ankle care. He strives to provide every patient with compassion and education about their conditions and treatment options. He is also looking forward to a long partnership with StrideCare. “With a comprehensive network of lower extremity providers, our patients will benefit from highly specialized treatments across multiple disciplines.
