Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (AAWW) (Nasdaq: AAWW), a leading provider of global air cargo assets and outsourced aircraft operating services, announced today that its Atlas Air, Inc. operating unit has successfully passed the IATA Operational Safety Audit, known as IOSA. Atlas Air was added to the IATA registry as an IOSA Operator in 2007 after successfully completing their initial IOSA audit.

“We are very pleased to once again pass this stringent operational audit demonstrating our full conformity with IOSA standards,” said John Dietrich, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. “Atlas Air is committed to safety and compliance leadership, as well as unmatched operational excellence.”

Atlas Air flies the world’s largest Boeing 747 freighter fleet, including the most state-of-the-art 747-400Fs. Initiated in 2001, the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is a globally-accepted safety standard designed specifically for the aviation industry. The program includes the most important aspects of an airline's duty to deliver a safe operation and divides these into eight categories of quality testing -- Corporate Organization and Management System, Flight Operations, Operational Control and Dispatch, Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance, Cabin Operations, Aircraft Ground Handling, Cargo Operations, and Operation Security.
