Atlas Air, Inc. Enters into New ACMI Contract with TNT Airways

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (AAWW) (Nasdaq: AAWW), a leading global provider of air cargo assets and outsourced aircraft operating solutions, today confirmed that its subsidiary, Atlas Air, Inc. (Atlas Air), has entered into a contract with TNT Airways, the Belgium-based aviation division of TNT, N.V. (Euronext Amsterdam/NYSE: TNT). Under the agreement, Atlas Air will provide Boeing 747-400 Freighter service for TNT’s international express air network under an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance (ACMI) agreement.

The 747-400F aircraft, which began operations for TNT Airways’ long-haul network on September 15, will be based at TNT’s European base of Liege, Belgium. Atlas Air’s fleet of modern and reliable 747-400 aircraft represents one of the most efficient freighter fleets in the market. The 747-400 is the industry benchmark for operating performance in the long-haul, intercontinental air freighter market due to its cost and capacity advantage over other freighters.

“We are very pleased to add TNT Airways to our portfolio of ACMI customers. TNT Airways operates a significant Express Air network including hubs and offices providing TNT Express connectivity across 200 countries,” said William J. Flynn, President and Chief Executive Officer of AAWW. “As the leading outsource provider of 747-400F aircraft with a global platform serving 270 destinations in 105 countries, Atlas Air will provide highly reliable service to TNT as it continues to expand its business in emerging markets.”

Niky Terzakis, Managing Director, TNT Airways, said, “We are very pleased to be entering into this agreement with Atlas Air. Both companies are focused on providing excellent service and reliability in the business-to-business space. Our role is to transfer goods and documents tailored to customers’ requirements with a focus on time-definite and day-definite pick up and delivery. We know we have found an excellent business partner in Atlas Air.”
