Atlas Air Worldwide Announces Placement of Additional B747-400 Freighter In ACMI Service for DHL Express

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAWW), a leading global provider of outsourced aircraft and aviation operating services, today announced the agreement to place a ninth Boeing 747-400 freighter into express network ACMI service for the benefit of DHL Express beginning in July 2012.

The additional 747 freighter that will begin flying for DHL will complement the eight aircraft we already have in service for its global express business. The aircraft will be used in an expanded trans-Pacific dedicated freighter network.”

Atlas Air Worldwide’s unit, Atlas Air, Inc., which provides outsourced airport-to-airport wide-body cargo solutions, will operate the aircraft for its sister company, Polar Air Cargo Worldwide, Inc., which serves DHL and other customers.
